Willie O'Ree Day in Duluth: Pucks Against Poverty
Willie O'Ree is the 'Jackie Robinson' of professional hockey: the first Black hockey player to play in the NHL. He was in Duluth as part of the event 'Pucks Against Poverty' coordinated by Community Action Duluth. Mr. O'Ree is the National Hockey league's Director of Youth Development and ambassador for NHL diversity.
